The Airline was founded in 1997.

The Airline is the only true black empowerment Airline initiative in South Africa.  Amongst our major goals we wish to empower PDIs (Previously Disadvantaged Individuals) in a meaningful manner, by allowing PDIs to manage and own shares in the Company. The company currently has three shareholders holding a 100% Black Empowerment Shareholding and a 64% Women Empowerment Shareholding. All financing of operations were made out of their own finances. We are currently increasing the number of the PDI shareholding in line with our Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) goals.  
 

Interlink Airlines operate aircraft ranging from the Piper Navajo
(6-7 Seater), Beechcraft B1900 (19 Seater) and Gulfstream VIP Jets to the Brasilia EMB 120 (30 Seater), Boeing 737-200 (106 Seater), DC9 (100 seater) and will soon be operating the B747 (450 - 490 Seater).

Interlink has a 24 hour operations centre available.
